A Great Weekend with David and Tom!
Posted on 02 April 2019
I’m sure many of you, especially those that shoot sporting clays, know the names David Radulovich and Tom Seay. They are both extraordinary shooters: David has won the World FITASC Championship, World Cup twice, the US Open twice and the list goes on. Tom has won the Northeast Regional Championship twice, the 2018 South Central Regional, the PSCA Event Championship and the list goes on. It’s no wonder that these young men have earned the respect and admiration of shooters around the world.
While I’d never met David or Tom, I once had a brief conversation with David about some of our products. When I heard that he was going to do a clinic at CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) in Talladega, I immediately contacted David to ask him if he would have time to continue our previous discussion during his visit (I happen to live close by). Well, one thing led to another and I suggested that he stay with us and, to our great delight, he took us up on the offer. I later learned that Tom was going to co-teach the clinic with David and my wife, Jennifer, and I were thrilled to extend an invitation to Tom, as well.
David and Tom arrived (separately) on Friday evening and after spending just a few minutes with them, we understood what made these two so very special. Remember, we had never met either one before, so we weren’t quite sure what to expect. Bravado, ego and arrogance might be expected when you’ve accomplished so much at such a young age. But absolutely none of that! David and Tom are simply the nicest, most well-mannered and down to earth young men Jennifer and I have met in a long time.
As the weekend progressed, I found out just how well rounded and grounded they are. Remember, these guys are world class shooters and I am (euphemistically) a “casual” shooter (read: weekend hack) but I found myself comfortably talking to them about clay target shooting! This must be what makes these guys so good at what they do and such in-demand instructors. I can only say, if you get an opportunity to spend time with David or Tom on the course – don’t pass it up!
Hey David and Tom – if you are ever in the area, you are always welcome at our place!!
